On 13th March 2012, we had to perform emergency maintenance on a part of our platform. This involved migrating a number of virtualised servers to a new physical host server. The migration improves the stability and availability of our platform. The affected servers were migrated in the planned order, largely successfully. Unfortunately, one server required additional configuration that kept it out of operation for longer than planned. For this reason, some Gateway (formerly mBILL) clients may have experienced a loss of, or intermittent access to, message reporting and email-based notifications between the hours of 2am and 8.30am GMT. We apologise for the inconvenience and deeply regret this partial loss of service during what was otherwise a successful migration. We remain committed to improving availability and redundancy of core messaging services and we will learn directly from this experience as we plan for further changes to our platform over the coming months.
19:34 GMT Further Update: One of the server reboots is taking longer than expected. Some clients may be experiencing a delay in receiving and sending messages. No messages are being lost during this time, but may be delayed.
14:00 GMT Further to the last update below, to allow for many of our servers to be rebooted, there will be additional periods of short downtime, each lasting no longer than 5 minutes, spread over the course of this afternoon.
