Q: What is the maximum per month for subscription billing in the USA?
A: The maximum you can bill on txtNation's shared codes is $9.99 per month. We also have a $4.99 per month approval.
Q: How many messages can we send per month and what amount per month can be billed...
A: There can be only one billed message per month. Providing you notify the user correctly before they sign up, you can send as many standard rate messages as you like throughout the month, to deliver the service that the user has paid for.
Q: Should there be reminder messages etc and so on?
A: Yes, you should send a monthly reminder message. Here is an example approved message flow containing the required reminder message contents:

Q: In USA can we test sending billed MTs without sending the double opt-in message or the double opt-in being confirm with a Y?
A: Technically this will work, but not on AT+T where they manage the double opt-in. However this is forbidden in terms of the regulations and you may not end up receiving the outpayments for them.
Q: In USA using the Gateway how do you decide to post a Y message to us, or another client using the shortcode?
A: A check is made when a Y MO arrives to see if there was an outgoing standard rate message in the last 24 hours, if there is a match the Y is posted to the client who has sent the most recent std rate message.
Q: For the USA in what format is the Y message posted to us?
A: In the USA, if you successfully generate a "Y", "YES" or "OK" MO, this will be posted to you as you would expect.
AT+T Specific FAQs:
Q: USA AT+T: Does AT+T take care of the double opt-in messages with transactional services as well as subscription services?
Q: USA AT+T: How does the AT+T managed double opt-in work, is it triggered when we post back to you with a value?
A: AT+T manage the double opt-in messages via the following process:
1) User sends MO message with client's keyword to shortcode
2) MO is posted to txtNation
3) txtNation post MO to the client
4) Client posts the billable MT to txtNation
5) txtNation post MT to AT+T
6) AT+T send double opt-in confirmation message to user
7) User replies Y
8) AT+T post txtNation a successfully billed delivery report
9) txtNation posts the delivery report to client
Q: USA AT+T: When testing AT+T, I opted in, then sent in STOP and tried to re-opt in, but it is not being posted to me.
A: Regarding STOP being sent into AT+T in USA, txtNation receives the stop command and posts it to the AT+T subscriptions system to inform them user has opted out. However this doesn't end their subscription until their current payment period has finished. This means user can't opt in again until that period is up. You can try logging into https://cingular-oac.qpass.com/oac/html/signin.do and tell it to cancel and even refund your previous test straight away, and if it lets you, you can then test again. However this only works for a limited number of times, if at all, and is controlled by AT+T.
Q: USA AT+T: With subscriptions do AT+T bill at the end of every month or a month on from when they signed up?
A: With subscriptions AT+T bill the user on your behalf one month on from exact date that they sign up, providing they have not opted out. There is also a reminder message that goes out to the user 3 days before they are due to be billed.
Q: USA AT+T: In USA where AT+T manage the double opt-in, do we get charged for their double opt-in messages and reminder messages?
A: In USA where AT+T manages the double opt-in, you get charged for the messages.
Q: USA AT+T: Where the subscription management is handled for us, do we send a billed message the following month?
A: No, if a users is still subscribed txtNation receives a special message from AT+T telling us that they have been billed, which txtNation then create a dummy outbound message so it shows in your account balance. You do not need to send a billed message.
