Approval Process

All services except Micropayments and Mobile Content (Ringtones, Truetones, Videos, Images) require approval before they are permitted to be put in the public domain. We have an existing approval for our mPUSH services, which when using our JunglePay interface, you can bill multiples of HKD30 without the need for carrier approval. Also, without carrier approval, but with approval from txtNation you can also build your own micropayment or content delivery service.

Shared shortcode approval takes 10 weeks upon application approval by mobile operators.

As part of the application process for you will need to complete a txtNation Customer Care Form (CCF).

Providing you are adhering to the regulations set by the regulator, that is all that is required.

Billing Types

We operate only Mobile Terminated (MT) billing with a mandatory Double Opt-in (DO) on our shared line in Hong Kong. See forum entry "What are the SMS billing types available?" for more information on these billing types.

Service Types

The same applies to both shared codes and dedicated codes, see forum entry Hong Kong - Premium SMS Regulationsfor more information. Also see above in this forum entry "Approval Process" for more information on our existing approvals on our shared line.

Available Tariffs

The only tariff currently available on our shared code is HKD30, however you can bill multiples of this as it is an MT billed line. Should you opt for a dedicated code, you could use our HKD30 line along side your dedicated, to say bill HKD40.

Shortcode and Keyword Structure

Our shared codes operate on numbers in the 503XXX series, which are non-adult, all ages shortcodes. The full short code is provided on application.

Frequency and Amount

The same applies to both shared codes and dedicated codes, see forum entry Hong Kong - Premium SMS Regulations for more information.

Taxes

The current rate of tax in Hong Kong is available via Wikipedia.

The outpayments on our rate cards are exclusive of VAT, so if you are VAT registered you can claim a higher outpayment than is shown.

Dedicated Codes

Dedicated codes are available with a 24 week lead time on carrier acceptance of your application. The carriers approve based on their backlog, the time of year, price point and service type. You can read more about Short Code Coverage, SMS Billing Services and Mobile Payments in Hong Kong via the txtNation Gateway.
