Approval Process

The same applies to both shared codes and dedicated codes, see forum entry Germany - Premium SMS Regulations for more information.

MT subscription services require their own dedicated code, so we can not offer the ability for you to apply for your own subscription service on one of our MT lines.

As services under €4.99 do not require approval, you can go live on our shared codes providing you adhere to the regulations.

As part of the application process for you will need to complete a txtNation Customer Care Form (CCF).

Promotion Guidelines

The same applies to both shared codes and dedicated codes, see forum entry Germany - Premium SMS Regulations for more information regarding Promotional Guidelines.

Message Flow Requirements

The same applies to both shared codes and dedicated codes, see forum entry Germany - Premium SMS Regulations for more information regarding Message Flow Requirements. We do not have specific message flow approvals on our German lines that you must adhere to. Providing you are adhering to the regulations set by the regulator, that is all that is required.

Billing Types

In Germany we operate only Limited Charge (LC) billing, which is MT billing but only one reply MT can be sent for each MO.

There is a mandatory Double Opt-in (DO) for services billing over €1.99, the Double Opt-in message is controlled on your behalf, so you do not need to trigger this yourself.

See forum entry "What are the SMS billing types available?" for more information on these billing types.

Service Types

The same applies to both shared codes and dedicated codes, see forum entry Germany - Premium SMS Regulations for more information regarding Service Types.

Available Tariffs

One-in-one-out billing is available on: €0.49, 0.99, 1.49, 1.99, 2.49, 2.99, 3.49, 3.99, 4.49 and 4.99.

To bill more than €4.99 on one of our shared codes, we can work with you to seek carrier approval.

We do not offer shared MO tariffs.

Shortcode and Keyword Structure

Our shared codes operate on golden numbers in the 6XXXX series, which are non-adult, all ages shortcodes. The full short code is provided on application.

Frequency and Amount

The same applies to both shared codes and dedicated codes, see forum entry Germany - Premium SMS Regulations for more information regarding Frequency and Amounts.

Taxes

The current rate of tax in Germany is available via Wikipedia. The out payments on our rate cards are exclusive of VAT, so if you are VAT registered you can claim a higher outpayment than is shown.

Dedicated Codes

Dedicated codes are available with a 4 - 8 week lead time on carrier acceptance of your application. The carriers approve based on their backlog, the time of year, price point and service type. You can read more about Short Code Coverage, SMS Billing Services and Mobile Payments in Germany via the txtNation Gateway.
