Approval Process

All services except Micropayments and Mobile Content (Ringtones, Truetones, Videos, Images) require carrier approval before they are permitted to be put in the public domain. We have an existing approval for our mPUSH and JunglePay services, which when using our JunglePay interface, you can bill multiples of RM3.00, RM4.00, RM6.00 and RM10.00 without the need for carrier approval. Also, without carrier approval, but with approval from txtNation you can also build your own micropayment or content delivery service. As part of the application process for you will need to complete a txtNation Customer Care Form (CCF).

Shared shortcode approval takes 2 weeks upon application approval by mobile operators.

Promotion Guidelines

The same approval process applies to both shared codes and dedicated codes, see forum entry Malaysia - Premium SMS Regulations for more information.

Opt-in Process

The same applies to both shared codes and dedicated codes, see forum entry Malaysia - Premium SMS Regulations for more information.

Message Flow Requirements

The same applies to both shared codes and dedicated codes, see forum entry Malaysia - Premium SMS Regulations for more information regarding Message Flow Requirements. We do not have specific message flow approvals on our Malaysian lines that you must adhere to. Providing you are adhering to the regulations set by the regulator, that is all that is required.

Billing Types

We operate only Limited charge Mobile Terminated (MT) billing on our shared line in Malaysia without approval (see Approval Process above). With approval you can use the lines as MT without the limited charge so you can run subscription services. See forum entry "What are the SMS billing types available?" for more information on these billing types.

Service Types

The same applies to both shared codes and dedicated codes, see forum entry Malaysia - Premium SMS Regulation for more information. Also see above in this forum entry "Approval Process" for more information on our existing approvals on our shared line.

Available Tariffs

The tariffs currently available on our shared lines are RM3.00, RM4.00, RM6.00 and RM10.00, however with carrier approval you can bill multiples of these as they are MT billed lines.

Shortcode and Keyword Structure

Our shared codes operate on numbers in the 3XXXX series, which are non-adult, all ages shortcodes. The full short code is provided on application.

Frequency and Amount

The same applies to both shared codes and dedicated codes, see forum entry Malaysia - Premium SMS Regulations for more information.

Taxes

The current rate of tax in Malaysia is available via Wikipedia. The outpayments on our rate cards are exclusive of VAT, so if you are VAT registered you can claim a higher outpayment than is shown.

Dedicated Codes

Dedicated codes are available with a 10 week lead time on carrier acceptance of your application. The carriers approve based on their backlog, the time of year, price point and service type. You can read more about Short Code Coverage, SMS Billing Services and Mobile Payments in Malaysia via the txtNation Gateway.
