Reason codes can be used to ascertain whether to retry a billed message to maximize revenue. For example; if a message reports “out of credit”, it is prudent to retry the MT at a suitable time delay when the user may have topped up their credit. Similarly, if a message reports out of coverage, it would be prudent to resend the message sooner.
Reason codes issue the outcome of MT billed messages and are posted in the delivery report issued from our server using the mp_report message as outlined in the txtNation documentation. Whilst txtNation always passes through the status of delivery reports from the carriers, there are some network/carrier restrictions/issues. This means the reports may either take some time to be delivered or are simply not supported in that territory, e.g. the USA.
