A visitor location register can do the following:
- Check the mobile subscriber’s location
- Check if the mobile subscriber has access to certain service(s).
- Remove inactive mobile subscribers.
- Bind with the HLR and pass information though.
For example, a typical use of VLR would be to query an MSISDN to check for roaming outside of the native country, to which a targeted advertisement message could then be sent depending on the location, e.g. instructions for how they can call home for less than their normal rate.
You can contact txtNaton to get access to the VLR lookup feature via our HLR Lookup API.
