Summary: Please be aware that we have received notification from one of our hosting providers, Rackspace that there will be maintenance and compulsory reboots of servers Monday 2 March 10 PM GMT to Tuesday 3 March 6 AM GMT. This is likely to lead to degraded service at various times of the day, as they work through all their clients servers. The exact times that our servers, across our multiple redundant sites, will be affected is unknown, as is the likely impact.
To provide context, this was released by Rackspace: "Recently, several critical Xen hypervisor vulnerabilities have been discovered that affect a portion of our First and Next Generation Cloud Servers fleet. Remediating these issues will unfortunately require a reboot of affected host machines. To protect the security of your data, we will be patching our infrastructure prior to when the details of these exploits will be released publicly. The purpose of this communication is to give you details about this maintenance event with as much advance notice as possible."
We advise that where possible you reschedule operating services to a later time.
